This photo workshop explores the power of photography to create impact and drive social change. Focusing on the Palestinian experience, it examines how the camera can serve as a tool for narrative and expression. The workshop blends theory—introducing the foundations of socially engaged photography—with hands-on practical training, guiding participants from concept to creating meaningful imagery

.تستكشف هذه الورشة قوة الصورة الفوتوغرافية في خلق التأثير وإثارة الحَراك داخل المجتمعات. وتركز بشكل خاص على توظيف التصوير في السياق الفلسطيني كأداة للسرد والتعبير. تجمع الورشة بين الجانب النظري، الذي يقدم أساسيات التصوير الموجّه اجتماعياً، والجانب العملي التطبيقي، حيث ينتقل المشاركون من الفكرة إلى الصورة ذات المعنى.


It’s an exciting opportunity for you to be a part of a three-day workshop with Berlin-based Palestinian photographer and Artist Mohamed Badarne.

Mohamed Badarne was born in the Palestinian village of Arraba, situated in the Galilee region. He became involved in social activism as a teenager and volunteered in refugee camps. As a result, he built a human rights movement for Palestinian youths. After graduating in professional photography, Mohamed has dedicated his career to photography and teaching, leading workshops with NGOs, community centres, and independent groups. He is the founder of the YuRa collective and the UntoldPalestine initiative.

WORKSHOP DAYS:

  • 27.01.2026 - Workshop Day 01 (16:00 - 19:00)

  • 28.01.2026 - Workshop Day 02 (16:00 - 19:00)

  • 29.01.2026 - Workshop Day 03 (16:00 - 19:00) + Seminar / Pop-up exhibition.

This photography workshop and the Pop-up exhibition are in collaboration with YuRa and Tvibit (The Tromsø-Gaza Twin-city Cooperation) and a part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the friendship between Tromsø and Gaza.

It’s Free - Limited Space - The workshop will be suitable for both English and Arabic Speakers.
