Join us for an art workshop to support the student research project: “Narratives of Home and Belonging among Ukrainian Refugees in Tromsø, Norway: Insights for a Healing-Justice Approach to Urban Planning?”
We will focus on concepts of home and belonging among Ukrainian refugees in Tromsø. The purpose of this workshop is to highlight local perspectives. So, whatever “home” means to you, come express this through art—whether it’s a person, a place, a thing, or something else!
There will be interviews as well as a visual art workshop to explore how urban planning in Tromsø can use personal stories for the empowerment of Ukrainian refugees who have experienced a change or loss of home. The project will refer to public participation to discuss a human-centered approach to city planning. By better understanding your experience in both Ukraine and since coming to Norway, the project goal is to provide recommendations to improve urban planning in Tromsø and create healing spaces where you can celebrate your home in Ukraine and have positive experiences in Tromsø.
If you are interested in participating in an interview or art workshop (or if you’d like to participate, but can’t make it for this event), please feel free to contact:
